Distractions:
La Jolla has plenty of great sites to check out while you're here!

  • La Jolla Shores Beach
This stretch of coast is family friendly and has both sand and grass. Scuba divers, surfers, and open-water swimmers frequent the place, along with plenty of families and UCSD students. Sting rays, bat rays, and guitar fish are also common patrons in the summer months. Shuffle for feet as you wade in. You can also rent a kayak and tool around the ocean, or explore the caves by the Cove.
  • La Jolla Cove
Another great beach. Lots of swimmers use this beach as their staging point, and it has some decent snorkeling.
  • Birch Aquarium
    Great for kids and adults.
  • Torrey Pines State Reserve
Plenty of hiking trails and great ocean views.
  • Torrey Pines Golf Course
The city's best place to play a round.
  • Torrey Pines Gliderport
Bring a picnic lunch (there's a snack bar, too) and watch the hang gliders and paragliders. This is definitely a unique experience. If you're feeling adventurous, take a tandem flight!
  • Seaworld
The Disneyland of San Diego county.
  • San Diego Zoo
  • San Diego Wild Animal Park
Most locals agree it's cooler than the zoo.
  • Old Town
Get a margarita and a plate of enchiladas while going back in time.
We are excited to update you on all of the Center's latest research and news at next week's review!
