Summary

Alin Deutsch is interested in developing technologies for large-scale data publishing and integration on the Web.

His research ranges from design and optimization of XML query languages to building high-level, user-friendly analysis and assisted-design tools helping data owners grasp the ramifications of granting access to their data on the Web.

Alin served as Co-Chair of WebDB 2006 and received the NSF CAREER award for his work on XML middleware for privacy-preserving database publishing. He holds a Diploma of Electrical Engineer from the Polytechnic University Bucharest (Romania), an MS from the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania (2002).
