Bill Lin's current research interests include novel system and VLSI architectures for high-speed networks and wireless communications applications. Dr. Lin is currently an associate professor at UCSD, where he has been involved with a number of industry-sponsored research efforts. Prior to UCSD, he headed a prominent research group at IMEC where he led research and advanced development in the areas of telecommunications, networking, and design technology. His research has led to over 100 ACM/IEEE journal and conference publications, and he has received a number of major publication awards, including the 1995 IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems Best Paper Award. He is also a co-inventor of several awarded patents. Dr. Lin holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
