Summary

PasqualeJoseph Pasquale's research interests are in network and operating system software design, focusing on system support for large-scale network-integrated computing (Internet computing), distributed multimedia (digital audio and video), and decentralized control-based coordination in large distributed systems. Dr. Pasquale is professor of computer science and holder of the J. Robert Beyster Chair in Engineering at UCSD. Dr. Pasquale is a recipient of the NSF Presidential Young Investigator (PYI) Award, the IBM Faculty Award, the NCR Faculty Innovation Award, the TRW Young Investigator Award, two UCSD School of Engineering Teacher of the Year Awards, and the UCSD Academic Senate Distinguished Teaching Award. He was a member of the IDA/DARPA Defense Science Study Group (DSSG) and is currently a member of the the UCSD Center for Wireless Communications (CWC). Dr. Pasquale holds a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT, and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.
