U.S. Representative Mike Levin and Mayor Serge Dedina Discuss Science, Policy & Communications
U.S. Representative Mike Levin and Mayor Serge Dedina from the City of Imperial Beach discussed science, policy & communications with students from UC San Diego, Computer Science and Engineering 190 (Environmental Impacts of Modern Computing) during a recent virtual event. The discussion focused on how elected officials work towards solutions to a range of environmental issues. Students had an opportunity to ask the elected officials questions during the event. CSE 190 is taught by CSE Associate Professor/CNS Co-Director George Porter. Two classes from the University of San Diego also participated in this event, Environmental and Ocean Sciences 300, taught by Associate Professor Michel Boudrias, and Theatre 494, taught by Associate Professor Monica Stufft.
