Geoff Voelker and Rene Cruz have been named Jacobs School Ericsson Distinguished Scholars. Each award from Ericsson includes $25,000 per year for five years to support teaching, research, and service activities. This award is a part of Ericsson’s long-term engagement with the UCSD division of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2). Voelker and Cruz are co-PIs on a research project titled “Adaptive Systems,” which seeks to ensure an always-on connectivity environment, regardless of location or competing wireless standards deployed in a given space.
